Overpriced and badly appointed. Well out of town. This property is not maintained at all, there is no 'cottage garden' as per photos! The television and video are left over from the 80's and not in working order. The bathroom was very close, but on the positive side had 'hot' water. This was not a cottage but rather a unit, the entire unit was extremely small and cluttered. The produce available to the visitors was not local, even the wine was very cheap 'champers', and tasted like it.
There was no welcome or interaction with the owners, only to advise us they required more money. This is the sixth year we have stayed in Tanunda, and we always visit different B & B's, or cottages and have been thrilled with the results. This property is extremely OVERPRICED, and delivers non of the unique characters of Tanunda. Look elsewhere, much nicer properties and more reasonable rates.
Tanunda is a must! It is central to Adelaide Hills and Clare, the only problem is visiting the many and varied tourist destinations. The wineries [mostly], are very welcoming and the local produce is exquisite. The locals are very proud of their region and they have a right to be. This is the sixth year we have travelled from Western Australia to enjoy the fruits of these regions.
